Derived from the name Saif ibn Dhi Yazan (Arabic Saif ibn Dhi Yazan), a Humerite king who lived between 516 and 574 CE, is known for ending Aksumite rule over southern Arabia. Al-Kalbi says that he was the son of Zayzan, the son of Afir, the son of Aslam bin Zayd.
